About the Artist

Maynard Breese, who resides and works in Chandler, Arizona, is one of the new breed in digital painters. Maynard's specialty is in the art of taking a photograph, or multiple photographs, and digitally altering them and painting over them with digital paints and brushes until they become something more than photographs or paintings. Unless you actually touch the canvas, you would not be able to tell that his works are not oil or impasto paintings.

Maynard’s work is available as giclée prints on canvas. He is a member of the Downtown Chandler First Wednesday and the Phoenix First Friday Artwalks, is on the artist steering committee for the Chandler walk; has been featured in the SanTan Sun News; is the featured artist at the SanTan Brewery and Cafe De La Cruz, the sole artist for MatrixMotosports, for whom he is creating a line of motorcycle racing-inspired art; is one of the 10 featured artists for JEM Expressions; had a solo show running through August 27, 2008 at the Salon7000 gallery space; is one of three featured artists for the August 1st "Art-cadia" art benefit for ovarian cancer research; and currently has work in several Phoenix galleries, including the Red Dog Gallery which recently featured the works of Keith Harring, and the Metropolitan Artists Gallery, where he has 30 pieces installed. Maynard also has work at the Aruba hotel and casino in Las Vegas, and at the Neon Venus Gallery, also in Las Vegas. He recently won the Zhibit.org Silver medal for their summer contest with his piece, "Finding her Serenity." Most recently, 4 of Maynard's works have been selected to be featured in the currently shooting feature film, "Valley of the Sun".

"My goal with my art," said Maynard," is to create something that not only looks beautiful and invites you to revisit it again and again, but to create an immediate emotional response. Art should be about helping the viewer capture an emotion.”
